Harbuk, The Venture

Everyone said it was impossible

Syria's first integrated e-commerce platform, built in the hardest of conditions, reaching numbers the Syrian market had never seen.

Harbuk was born to answer a real need in the Syrian market, at a time when even the simplest digital solutions were absent, amid power cuts, fuel shortages, weak internet and daily currency swings, with no electronic payment systems or modern banking infrastructure.

Despite those conditions, the team built a fully integrated platform, developing solutions for every detail of the operation from payment to delivery, until it peaked in 2021 at more than 20,000 monthly orders, an unprecedented figure in the Syrian market.

In 2022 the platform launched its new edition named “Souq Medhat Pasha”, after the historic Damascus market, faster loading and cleaner, better-organized interfaces.

Ahmad says of the experience: Harbuk was a hands-on laboratory where he learned team management, partnership building and thinking under pressure, and where his conviction took root that discipline and honest intent can succeed even in the toughest environments.

In 2023, after six years, he closed the Harbuk chapter. The next step was sharing the experience rather than starting a new company: the book was born, and the digital content production and distribution journey began in September 2024.
